New York, New York (or, Julia Gets Married)

What a tremendously exciting week this has been! Lots and lots going on in the New York City. You have probably read about all the goings on and all the happening eatin’ spots we hit up, but, believe it or not, there was lots more where that came from.

First of all, the wedding was absolutely fabulous. You can see some of the romance here, at the water’s edge and under two bridges in DUMBO. The ceremony was intricate and personal and moving, and Ben and I felt special to be there for it. The party and reception that followed were filled with laughter, delicious food (chicken to die for and cornbread sweeter and butterier than your mama ever made it) and lots and lots of dancing. Cupcakes were delightful and served up with mini-cups of Ben & Jerry’s.

Oh the beauty of the sun setting...
Celebrating Julia and Kahlil's wedding was amazing. So was spending time with our beloved friends. Without a doubt, we loved our time with Miyo, Nina, Jonathan, Ari, John, Dominique, Bryan, Katherine, Wilson, Jo, Tarik, Grace, Kira, Jazz, Valentina, and so many many more friends. The time was so special together, making us full of reminiscing but also of living up every second. The boys...
The delicious cupcakes!
Since we woke up super late the next day, Miyo forced us to go to Community Food & Juice. She had to drag us kicking and screaming down to the Columbia campus area. It was so painful. The food was just too delicious. (See our organic local food below, and the sweet potato fry in my mouth in all its glory).
Mmmmm...veggie burger and farmer's breakfast!
Here is Miyo, delighting on her carnivorous urges.

Afterwards we circled into Central Park, meeting up with Claire, Nina, Jonathan, and others throughout the day.

Later that night we made the trek out to the lower West side (I had never heard of that area, not quite Chelsea and not quite Meatpacking..but hey, I dont know NYC THAT well) to a special place where Julia and Kahlil threw a party at an art forum.

Our dear friends whom we've missed...(JULIAN!)

And these dear friends we've missed (ALEEKA! ARI!)

It was lovely, and not just because we got to watch everyone give tribute to this super special couple and eat lots of yummy cookies, but also because there was a dance contest between couples (I mean non-discriminatorily speaking, any 2 people! they didn't have to be dating!).

Here we are awaiting the results. The themes included "chocolate" "Julia" and "orange." It was so fun, and Ben and I won "Best Energy." (Note that everyone won something, ok?)

Lots and lots of fun.
